don't let perfect be the enemy of good enough.

plagh!!!!! (that's the sound of me spitting in annoyance.)

i do love that phrase. and it rings in my ears every time i find myself spending WAY too much time on something silly, whether in photo editing (o.k. mostly in photo editing,) trying to clean or organize something or MAKE something. whatever. but i'm a perfectionist. born that way. love it & hate it. so that phrase. . .the one that keeps me in check now? came from my husband. (and actually, i think it originated from HIS dad.) but i've heard him annoyingly repeat it to me on more than one (ten,) occasions. and again, i'm a perfectionist. so saying THAT to me, is like telling the pope to stop being so Catholic. it's just not going to happen.

but maybe it should. (not the pope, me.) as again, today, i find myself hunched over & obsessing over the SILLIEST details in a photograph, that only my perfectionist, crazy eye will see. my client won't. all they'll see is the beautiful face of their angelic little girl. so, let it go, liz. and YOU let it go too. 'don't let PERFECT be the enemy of GOOD ENOUGH.' thanks, dad.

here's what i'm obsessing over. see if you can find 'the issue' i'm having! bet you can't! good luck! if you can, you win a prize!

I said that to Russ once and he replied, "but why be good enough when you can be perfect?" Yeah. We both have a perfectionist problem and decided to just embrace it. I see no problem with the photo though. It is awesome.
